Electric Subaru: Tell 'em what you think

Subaru has brought some R1e electric mini-cars to NY. They have a program with Tokyo Electric Power Company that has been testing vehicles in Japan since 2006. Now, they're at the NY Auto Show, and two of them are joining the New York Power Authority fleet. Much like the Th!nk City that NYPA also tested, the cars have a 50 miles range with a 65 mile per hour top speed. Any interest in such a car? Subaru wants to know. Visit the bottom of their R1e webpage here to send them comments.

Thanks for the info. I expressed my interest to Subaru. It would be nice to have production, affordable, freeway-speed EVs for sale in the US.

I urge everyone to contact Subaru and every company and tell them you won't buy new until they bring production electric vehicles to market.

Please manufacture 1)affordable, 2)highway speed, 3)with cool air conditioning, 4)with at least 4 seats, and no glass roofs. No one's trying to get a tan all the time and some people have families who do not live on bus, trolley, or metro train routes.

I think Hybrids won't last as long as other cars, they are only fad and one thinks which is not good is that batteries only last a couple years.
