Is the project still in progress or what happened to it?
American racing WheelsAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2567859015477147199.post-52683947021516789392010-09-09T15:10:13.182-07:002010-09-09T15:10:13.182-07:00CNG is a great way to eliminate oil usage; any car...CNG is a great way to eliminate oil usage; any car or truck can be converted to CNG. CNG is a clean fuel (you get HOV stickers just like an EV) and it's plentiful and there's already a fueling infrastructure. It's proven and cheap.

EVs and rooftop solar power are better!

But for those who believe in Fuel Cells and the Hydrogen Hype, just ask yourself: why not CNG? It only takes 3600 psi, not 5000 or 10,000 psi; it's much cheaper than H2; it doesn't require a fuel cell stack that costs more than a car and only lasts 3 years; and so on.

While CNG isn't perfect, it's a LOT better than using imported oil.

Did you know that the tar sands of Canada use "free" natural gas to boil the heavy oil out of the shale? And that the amount of natural gas used would take a CNG car farther than the REST of the oil produced takes the average oil-fired car? Of course, the electric used would take an EV two or three times as far! So EVs are best, but CNG isn't a bad idea.

Solar rooftop power is best, because we don't need to desecrate teh wilderness to build solar plants; the rooftops of America, more than 10,000 square miles, have more than enough sunny acres to power ALL our electric needs, even if all cars are plug-ins.

And rooftops are already developed, no new destruction needed. And the solar panels cool and protect the roof, and the electric is generated where it's needed and when it's needed.liveoilfreehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11863690959175100670noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2567859015477147199.post-7443074754692341702009-08-21T23:03:17.226-07:002009-08-21T23:03:17.226-07:00Really very good blog for wow gold its really exc...Really very good blog for wow gold its really excellent. All of that extra wind generated electricity is not going to put much of a dent in the electricity generated by natural gas. I don't see many of the existing fossil fueled power plants being shut down any time soon.

A much better use for the wind generated electricity is to directly power transportation. Electric cars are the better way to utilize the extra energy. The net result is the same, less oil will be used.

CNG cars still pollute and like others have said "it's easier to clean up 100 smoke stacks than 1 million tail pipes".Randy C.https://www.blogger.com/profile/13805076747945668249noreply@blogger.com
